OET implements new testing protocols to safeguard health and safety at test venues.

OET, the English test of choice for healthcare professionals, has announced new protocols that align test delivery at OET test venues with local, regional, and national COVID-19 restrictions. Already implemented in some countries on our most recent test date, the Social Distanced Testing Protocols (SDTP) are helping OET Test Delivery Partners resume safe and secure testing without compromising the wellbeing of candidates or test centre staff. The new protocols will ensure OET test venues globally can deliver the test as soon as lockdowns and restrictions on movement ease. OET has taken the lead by developing these rigorous protocols for conducting testing during the COVID-19 pandemic. The SDTP’s will provide best practice guidance to our partners, ensuring hygiene and social distancing precautions are adhered to before, during and after testing. OET Chief Operating Officer Richard Brown said the SDTP builds on local guidelines. “The STDPs will help ensure all conduct during test delivery complies with the various government precautions,” he said. “We take the safety of our candidates and test venue staff very seriously and are committed to doing everything we can to fight the spread of COVID-19.” Sujata Stead, CEO of OET, said the new protocols are essential to the safe resumption of test delivery around the world. “We want to continue to meet the global demand for OET from healthcare professionals in a way that aligns with our commitment to the safety of our candidates and test venue staff,” she said. “The SDTPs will help increase test capacity and frequency in a safe and controlled way, while providing a pathway for healthcare professionals to begin their international career.”
